According to Apple, iPhone battery health can be maintained 100 percent

Apple usually offers good battery life with its devices, be it iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch models or others. In the past, however, Apple has been accused of deliberately slowing down iPhone models with aging batteries, and it recently paid $ 113 million (about Rs. 819 million) to settle the BatteryGate case. Apple believes this was done to help keep the battery in good condition for an extended period of time. However, since then battery and power management features have been introduced that allow users to share tips and recommendations on how to maintain battery health. Some of the general practices Apple recommends include updating to the latest software, avoiding high ambient temperatures, removing certain cases while charging, and keeping devices in a half-charged state if they are being stored for an extended period of time.

Apple has a page on their website that details how you can maximize your iPhone’s battery life and lifespan. The first is to keep it up to date.

Update your iPhone

  1. Go to on your iPhone the settings.

  2. The available update should be displayed here. If you see an update, tap on it and your iPhone will start updating. Make sure there is enough battery left.

  3. Alternatively, you can connect your iPhone to your computer and update it with the latest version of iTunes.

You can also extend battery life by adjusting the screen brightness and using a Wi-Fi connection whenever possible. You can either lower the screen brightness of your iPhone or activate the automatic brightness.

Dim the display brightness and turn on the automatic brightness

  1. Open the control center.
  2. Drag the brightness slider down.
  3. To activate the automatic brightness, go to the settings.
  4. Tap on General.
  5. Tap on Accessibility.
  6. Tap on Show accommodations.
  7. Set the automatic brightness to On.

Activate the energy saving mode

iPhone users can also turn on power saving mode if it is starting to get weak. When the battery drops to 20 percent, you will receive a notification and the power saving mode can be activated with a tap of your finger. To turn on power saving mode manually:

  1. Go to the settings.
  2. Scroll down and tap battery.
  3. Switch the power saving mode to On.

Users can view information about their iPhone’s battery usage by going to Battery Settings (Settings> Battery). To save battery life, iPhone users can also turn off settings like background app updates and location services. Here’s how:

Prevent apps from updating in the background.

  1. Go to the settings.
  2. Tap on General.
  3. Tap on Update background app.
  4. Choose out to completely disable the background app.

Turn off location services for apps

  1. Go to the settings.
  2. Tap on privacy.
  3. Tap on Location services.
  4. Here is a list of apps that use Location Services with the switch off.
