Directed by Koratala Siva, “Acharya” hits theaters on April 29

Acharya was a box office drag having only collected Rs. 51.80 crore (approx) by the end of the third day.

But, the Telugu film stars the father-son duo of Chiranjeevi as the main character, and Ram Charan as his “comrade” Siddha respectively, so expectations were high!

So how much did the lead actors and others charge for their roles?

Let’s discuss further.

Budget, Chiranjeevi fees

Funded by Konidela Production Company in association with Matinee Entertainment, Acharya was made on a reported budget of Rs. 140 crores.

And, main man Chiranjeevi’s fee for his major role was a mind-blowing Rs. 50 crores.

It was like a good Rs. 10 crore more than he brought home for his latest film, Surender Reddy’s directorial adventure Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

Charan’s payment for his cameo appearance

Charan, the son of Chiranjeevi, appeared in a long appearance in Acharya for which he pocketed a good Rs. 10 crores.

His performance as a beta male character was appreciated and many thought he was better than his father. Well done Charane!

Acharya was his second release in 2022 after the tumultuous RRRfor which he received a solid salary of Rs. 45 crores!

Pooja Hegde’s cameo appearance drew her in…

Along with Charan, Pooja Hegde also made a lengthy appearance as her romantic interest, Neelambari.

She was reportedly paid Rs. 1 crore for the role, which is quite big considering the length of the role.

In 2022, Hegde was also seen in the commercial dud called Radhe Shyam for which she was paid Rs. 12 crores. The film was released in March.

Payment for Sonu Sood, Kajal Aggarwal

Sonu Sood, who played the main antagonist Basava, was paid Rs. 4 crores.

Meanwhile, the case of Kajal Aggarwal is a bit interesting.

Although her shares as leading lady (Acharya’s love interest) were completely cut, her payment was not cut.

She was paid around Rs. 2 crore for her part.

Aggarwal is currently busy with her newborn, a son named Neil Kitchlu.
