The Punjab Health Care Commission (PHC) on Monday set the price of Dengue fever ELISA test at Rs1,500.
In line with the guidelines issued to all private laboratories, collection centers and hospital laboratories in the province, the maximum price for Dengue NS-1, IgG and IgM ELISA test has been set at Rs1,500.
Additionally, all entities, both providing testing facilities and collecting samples, have been instructed not to charge more than the fixed rate.
They were also asked to mention the machine used for the test, the reagents and the kits with their certification, and finally, the individual lot numbers.
They have also been instructed that the reporting period should not exceed 24 hours.
Earlier on Monday, a consultative meeting was held at the PHC office with representatives of major laboratories, chaired by PHC Director General Dr. Muhammad Saqib Aziz, during which consensus was reached to reduce the prices of Dengue-related testing in the public interest. at Rs1,500.
Additionally, testing entities were also cautioned against violating the orders, and violations would result in criminal consequences, including fines, suspension of services, disbarment from the PHC, and sealing of premises.
“To ensure these guidelines, authorized officers of the PHC will inspect and visit hospitals, private laboratories and collection centers from time to time,” the directive warns.
