A TOP lawyer who quit her $75,000 a year job and taught herself how to talk to animals is now earning more doing her dream job – as a PET psychic.
Nikki Vasconez, 33, started researching how to talk to animals in September 2020 while working as a full-time real estate lawyer, but after discovering her passion, she quit her job to become a full-time animal communicator for a year. later.
In September 2021, Nikki from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, launched her pet clairvoyant business on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok — and was booked for the next four months.
Nikki, who runs, Nikki Vasconez Animal Communication, said: ‘I was so miserable in my previous job, I worked huge hours and I was just unhappy but too scared to change.
“Until that happens.
“I started training on my family and friends’ pets for free, as well as some foreign animals, but as soon as I created social media accounts, I started growing in popularity and it didn’t take long for requests to start pouring in.
“When I created my TikTok account I gained 175,000 followers within a few months and in January 2022 I had to stop taking bookings because I was so inundated!
“The business has just taken off.
“I was working on orders that were backed up for months.
“I couldn’t believe it – I had to create a waiting list which had a total of 4,000 people asking me to speak with their animals.”
Nikki, who lives with personal development trainer Michael, 34, and their two teacup poodles Donald, 7, and Merlin, 8, taught herself how to communicate with animals by doing her own research and reading a series of books on the practice.
During a typical reading, Nikki will sit in a quiet room in her home where she will study a photo of the animal and telepathically ask them a series of questions.
The clairvoyant records her questions and the animal’s “answers” on her phone so that the owners can listen to the full exchange again.
Nikki insists on seeing the animal’s eyes in the photo, and she is told the animal’s name, gender, and the names of the people in the house.
But she revealed she preferred not to know more details about the animal to prevent her “human brain” from interfering with the messages.
Nikki explained: “When I communicate with animals, sometimes I see images flashing in my eyes or I hear particular phrases.
“I can’t hear their accents or their tone of voice, but I can still feel their personality.”
Nikki charges $350 for a one-hour session and limits her communications to two per day to ensure the best playback quality.
The pet psychic also offers services to talk with deceased pets – which accounts for about half of her requests.
She said: “Of the animals I’ve spoken to who have died, they’re never upset, angry or resentful.
“In my experience, they have always been happy and free and talk about how parts of their bodies have been restored and the ailments that have gone away.
“I spoke to a cat who told me he could see after losing his sight while alive.
“I speak with animals who have died and who comment on the lives of humans who are still alive.
“I am convinced that they are going where we are going.
“It completely changed my view of death because it’s a change, a transition because I’ve never had a single sad animal.”
RANGE OF ANIMALS
The majority of animals Nikki works with are domestic animals such as dogs and cats, but she has also worked with geckos, bearded dragons, horses, cows, pigs, several different birds, and donkeys.
Her clients include animal owners who want to communicate with their pets, as well as barn owners and rescue owners who want to understand what is causing their animals’ pain or suffering.
About 98% of pet owners who have approached Nikki are women.
She explained: “In my experience, husbands have been much more skeptical, but after receiving the recording of my communication with their pet, they are amazed.
“I was talking to a dog, Peter, who told me about a door in his family’s kitchen that kept sticking and driving the mother crazy.
“When they then played the recording back, her husband’s jaw dropped because he was so accurate.
“It’s so much fun when that happens!”
Recalling another successful read, Nikki described speaking with a cat, Finnegan, who she later discovered had a toothache.
She recalls: “The landlord had asked me for help when they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him because he was just lying in his landlord’s bed, unable to do anything. .
“The vets had ruled out any tooth issues because the x-ray showed no signs of a problem, but I kept feeling this pain in my own mouth while talking to him, so I thought he was telling me he had toothache. the lower jaw.
“Turns out the x-ray revealed he had an abscess and needed a tooth pulled!”
During another reading, Nikki continually overheard a pet dog, Odie, repeating the phrase “you’re the best thing in the world.”
She said: “It was so funny when I said that to the owner, she laughed and said ‘that’s what I tell her every morning!’
On another occasion, Nikki spoke with a horse, Cruse, who told her she didn’t like her owner’s boyfriend.
She recalled: “Cruse told me not to worry because the boyfriend doesn’t like her either!
“I said this to the owner and she laughed saying it was all true.
“From my conversations, I definitely learned that our animals have opinions just like us – it’s really funny!”
In addition to her readings, Nikki also offers workshops to teach others how to talk with their pets.
She feels passionate that anyone can learn to develop the skill.
She said: “Anyone can do it, I believe it 100 per cent.
“At first I wasn’t able to do this, but I learned how to do it.
“Animal communication is not a gift, it is a skill and a muscle that must be developed.
“We are all innate psychic beings, so it just takes practice.”
While many have taken an interest in her services and learned the skill on their own, Nikki is also receiving criticism online from TikTok users who are suspicious of her claims.
She said: “There are a lot of people who are very skeptical and say I’m a fraud.
“I understand this can be confusing as we are raised to believe interspecies communication is not the norm.”
“The criticism bothered me at first but I don’t care anymore.”
Due to the success of her business, Nikki now advocates for people to pursue their passions.
She said: ‘I was so miserable as a lawyer.
“My days were long because I was commuting 90 minutes each way.
“I left my house at 6 a.m. and didn’t come back until 6:30 p.m.
“I even had car accidents because I was so physically and mentally exhausted.
“I had a lot of student loans so I was initially reluctant to leave the law firm, but I decided to take a leap of faith and I’m so glad I did.
“I couldn’t be happier now doing what I love the most.”
