Employees Provident Fund (EPFO) subscribers who have been anxiously awaiting the PF interest rate may soon receive good news. The government could credit the interests of the PF before the end of this month, according to several media.
Earlier this year, the Central Board of Trustees and EPF recommended an annual interest rate of 8.10% to be credited on EPF accumulations in member accounts for the 2021-22 financial year. It should be noted that the EPFO announces the interest rate of the PF each year.
Four methods are available for PF members to check their PF balance from the comfort of their home: SMS, Web, Missed Call and UMANG App.

By making a missed call to 011-22901406 from their registered mobile number, EPFO subscribers can obtain their PF details from the Employees Provident Fund Organization. This is possible if they have registered on the UAN portal.

Under the old regulations, 100% of the EPF could be withdrawn after two months of unemployment. With certain restrictions, tax exemptions are available for EPF corpus withdrawals. Employee contributions to the EPF account must be paid continuously for five years to benefit from the tax exemption on the EPF corpus.
