Leeds ready to pay huge fee to sign Aston Villa star

Leeds United have reportedly rekindled their interest in Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.

That’s according to recent reports, which claim Los Blancos, who have long been interested in the England striker, are set to step up their interest again ahead of the January and summer transfer windows.

It is believed that Leeds United have wanted Watkins for several seasons now. The forward had just helped Brentford win promotion to the Premier League when reports first emerged linking him with a move to Elland Road.

However, failing to make the switch, the former Bees striker ended up joining Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa, but interest from Leeds has not yet died out.

However, the biggest problem the Yorkshire giants will face will be offering Villa enough money to entice them to sell.

Faced with demanding “enormous fees”, freeing Watkins from his tenure at Villa Park will not be easy.
