Paul Gorst Deadline Day Afternoon Update

Paul Gorst brings you the latest updates from Anfield and the surrounding area…

Fabio Carvalho – A £5m bid has been submitted to Fulham with an offer to send him out on loan for the rest of the season. Liverpool are keen to avoid potential court if they don’t sign him this month, so the sum effectively acts as bail to secure him this summer. No contact with Carvalho’s representatives so far.

Nat Phillips – On his way to a south coast medical with a loan deal from Bournemouth expected to be confirmed today. Liverpool will receive a loan fee for the player who wants to launch his career after barely playing all season. A new contract which was signed in August preserves the value of Phillips ahead of a potential permanent move away from Anfield during the summer months.

neco williams – Another player wanted by Bournemouth, he cut short a break in Dubai to discuss his options with his agents. Liverpool are happy to loan him out and believe regular football will be a huge benefit. With James Milner, Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley all capable of replacing if Trent Alexander-Arnold is out, the Reds are happy to give their blessing to a Williams move for the rest of the campaign.

Divock Original and Takumi Minamino – Both players have been the subject of interest with Origi wanted by Atalanta and Minamino attracting the attention of Monaco and Leeds. Liverpool are also under no pressure to move forward and are happy to keep the two on board as they battle it out on four fronts.

Leighton Clarkson – Liverpool are ready to listen to any loan offer for the young midfielder following his return from Blackburn Rovers earlier this month.

Loris Karius – The ongoing pursuit to find a new club continues.
