Interest fee

Newcastle and West Ham have scouted Enzo Le Fee

Newcastle United and West Ham have both scouted Enzo Le Fee, with 90 Minutes reporting that several Premier League sides are watching the 22-year-old closely.

Le Fée has shone for Lorient so far this season. He scored two goals and provided two assists in 13 Ligue 1 games to help the team off to a brilliant start to the campaign.

90min report that his contract expires in 2024. Lorient, unsurprisingly, want to keep and tie him up for longer. But Le Fee is attracting a lot of interest.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund are among European sides keen on the youngster.

Le Fee is not a household name at this stage of his career. But he has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in the French top flight at the moment.

He’s not the finished article, with some aspects of his defensive game needing improvement. But going forward, he has quite an impact for Lorient.

Only nine Ligue 1 players have made more progressive passes so far this season, according to FBRef. Meanwhile, he’s third in key assists in the entire division.

He makes things happen for Lorient. And it would be a blow to lose him.

But clearly, they have a battle on their hands.

Newcastle must imagine their chances of convincing most of their targets to move to Tyneside. Like Lorient, Eddie Howe is fourth in the championship. And they have the wherewithal to upset the apple plow in the Premier League.

But obviously, a lot will depend on which sides want it most badly.
