Police charge man with drug trafficking, Logan Central

Police have charged a man after they allegedly located a large amount of dangerous drugs and cash inside a vehicle in Logan Central on Friday, July 22.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., officers from the Logan District Drug and Firearms Enforcement Team were patrolling Forrest Street in Woodridge when they spotted a vehicle of interest.

Officers tracked the vehicle to Ewing Road, Logan Central, where it was pulled over at 8:45 p.m.

It will be alleged that inside the vehicle officers found approximately $13,200 in cash, 88.5 grams of methylamphetamine crystal, a small glass bottle containing 50ml of gamma hydroxybutric acid (GHB) and a glass pipe.

Further searches of the vehicle reportedly uncovered 15 bottles of GHB, approximately one liter each, concealed in the spare wheel compartment.

A 33-year-old Biggera Waters man has been charged with one count of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of relevant substances, possession of utensils, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offense and driving without a license.

He is due to reappear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 28.
