Carlo Ancelotti isn’t the kind of manager to tinker too much with his team unless absolutely necessary and thus, Real Madrid have a nice group of regulars under the Italian’s leadership. It also means that there are quite a few who struggle to get minutes on the pitch and one of them is Alvaro Odriozola.
Before joining Real Madrid, Odriozola was one of the highest rated youngsters in Spain and an important part of the Real Sociedad squad.
Things went south for him at the Santiago Bernabeu. His loan spell at Bayern Munich wasn’t much better. He did, however, have a decent temporary spell at Fiorentina and it looks like that was enough to pique the interest of Juventus, who are struggling at the moment and badly need to refresh their squad.
As reported by Tutto Juve, Real Madrid want a fee of around €10-12m for Odriozola’s transfer. Juventus will try to negotiate on this figure or try to ask for a loan with an option to buy also included in the agreement.
Real Madrid ready to let struggling player go for €12m transfer fee
It doesn’t look like Odriozola has much of a future at Real Madrid and shouldn’t get any playing time unless someone gets injured. The Spaniard hasn’t played a single minute of football yet this season.
Right now, Real Madrid’s starting right-back is Dani Carvajal, who continues to play at a high level, while Lucas Vazquez covers for him there.
Odriozola’s current deal with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2024 which means they don’t have much time to find him a new club. A move to Juventus could make sense for all parties involved.
