Report: Chelsea set Conor Gallagher transfer fee amid summer interest

Chelsea have set a transfer fee of around £50m for Conor Gallagher amid interest from clubs looking to sign him in the next summer window, according to reports.

The Blues man has been loaned to fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace for the season, where he has been very impressed in English football’s top flight under manager Patrick Vieira.

Such form for the Eagles has sparked interest from other parties across Europe as Chelsea look to retain one of their brightest prospects.

According to Goal, the world and European champions have set a price tag of around £50million if clubs want to sign him this summer.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be a ‘big admirer’ of the 22-year-old, and his parent club may be keen to keep him in the first team next season.

Some clubs, including his loan side Palace, are believed to have inquired about his services in connection with a potential move.

However, the aforementioned figure would need to be met in any bid before talks could begin on a potential move to the west London side.

Since Gallagher joined the south London side in the summer on a season-long loan deal, he has made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and assisting five.

As a result, he was rewarded with two call-ups to the senior England squad, with the midfielder picking up an assist in their recent friendly against Switzerland.

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in bringing him to Roma, with the Serie A side just one of several clubs showing strong interest.
