Tottenham Hotspur player open to joining interested club if fee agreed

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal is set to leave north London this summer to join Atletico Madrid, who are keen to land him, if a fee is agreed.

Emerson only arrived at Spurs last summer, signed by former boss Nuno Espirito Santo, and he struggled to convince Antonio Conte, who wanted a new right-back in January.

Despite having over 30 appearances this campaign for Spurs to his name, Emerson has been criticized for his performances and has played under 15 minutes in their last two games, being dropped in favor of Matt Doherty.

Spurs could listen to Emerson’s offers and, according to the Spanish daily Markhe is reportedly ready to join Atletico Madrid if a deal is agreed.

Atletico Madrid love the player and consider adding him to their right-back options in the summer window.

The club have already made initial contact, but face competition from Italian giants Inter.

The La Liga club are more likely to bring in Emerson as the right-back prefers to return to Spain, from where he was bought by Spurs.

Atletico Madrid are also interested in another Premier League right-back in Aston Villa star Matty Cash after losing Kieran Trippier to Newcastle United in January.
